Forcing the Issue

I love forcing bulbs all winter long. I am invigorated to see green shoots and dark brown dirt in the middle of these cold New England winters. We have a beautiful amaryllis on the dining table as I type (it is white and so not christmas-y) and I am onto my second batch of narcissus in my kitchen. Here is an old picture from my San Francisco mantle, where I forced some bulbs in February.

Do you know of this company? It just made my heart go pitter patter.

I am a stationery whore of sorts and this online stationery/invite company might have just stolen my heart. You can choose the the coolest stationery designs and create your own invite, save the date, announcement - whatever you might need. Their fonts are amazing, the motifs are fun and cool. Then you can even customize the envelope the invite comes in - and this is all over the internet so you don't actually get paper or send paper. And... it appears to be free. I can't think of a better gift than that!

Wow, they have some really fun Valentine's invites and cards.

I just made this one for fun - but it gets me thinking of hosting a little impromptu v. day gathering at our house...
